"In 1996 an internationally known hip hop group, International Family Affair, recognized Virgil's talented abilities of songwriting, arranging, and performing. Virgil then merged with IFA, adding his unique gifts to an already hot new sound. With his distinct addition incorporated, the hip hop group propelled to a level (Billboard Bagazine) likened to that of the Beatles. Virgil received his first national notoriety as the group's single, "Throw Ya Hands Up", circulated in heavy BET, MTV, and CMC rotation for months, not to mention every major radio station acorss the country."
